Underwood Training was established in early 2006 by Helen Underwood & was incorporated in 2009 becoming Underwood Training Limited. Gaining HSE Approval for the delivery of First Aid at Work in 2008 (as Pro-Active Medical Training, HSE Approval No.28/08)  and winning a tender bid with Leeds City Council in 2010 for the delivery of Paediatric First Aid across Leeds demonstrates the quality of our training.

THE HSE stopped issuing 'training numbers' to first aid training companies on 1st October 2013, and technically no-longer approves any training providers, which means that  businesses who require training should carry out due diligence on any Training Provider that they use. Although the HSE cannot advise you on this, it has published a list of questions that you should be asking of the provider. To save you time, we have already done this; documentation is available via email for any current or prospective customers of Underwood Training. Additionally the HSE now states that if a business requires specialist first aid training they can take an appropriate course such as an Outdoor, Sports or Paediatric course instead of the First Aid at Work course.

As of February 2014, we have become a centre registered with the Awarding Organisation TQUK, which means that we are now able to offer Ofqual regulated qualifications in:

  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • First Aid at Work
  • First Aid at Work Requalification
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Emergency Paediatric First Aid

We can therefore give clients a choice in which accreditation route they wish to be certificated through according to their needs.

Our trainers come from a variety of backgrounds & we are able therefore to tailor courses to any working environment. Every trainer has a formal teaching qualification & all undertake a comprehensive continuous professional development programme. Although based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, we cover a wide area with regular courses across Yorkshire & travel further afield when requested.
