Bookings

All bookings are provisional until a completed course booking form and course deposit of 30% has been received. Your place on the course will then be confirmed in writing with a receipt/ balance invoice and joining details.

Fees

Balance of course fees is normally due 14 days before commencement of the course. A receipt and any final course information will be sent to you at this time.

Cancellation

If a course is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, insufficient bookings or is overbooked by Underwood Training Ltd, you will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to cancel a course at any time. If however the course is cancelled by an individual or an organisation:

  • More than 30 days notice - loss of deposit (or transfer to another course individual FA candidate only - for one change of date)
  • 15-30 days notice - 50% of full course fee
  • Within 14 days or failure to attend - full fee due

Late arrivals or absences

Where the course results in attainment of a certificate, late arrivals or absences will usually culminate in your not receiving it. This is due to the minimum number of hours attendance required by the National Governing Bodies for some of the awards.

Responsibilities

Whilst your safety on all our courses is at the forefront of our thinking, and professional standards are employed throughout, clients are expected to take responsibility for their own actions and conduct.

For first aid training, clients are expected to be able to kneel, twist and bend over simulated casualties – you should be physically fit and able to do this.

For water sports, clients should be able to swim 25m in light clothing. Appropriate buoyancy aids will be supplied.

If there is any doubt concerning a client’s medical condition affecting their ability to participate in any of our courses, please bring it to our attention at the time of booking.

Insurance

Underwood Training Ltd has public liability and professional indemnity insurance cover of £5 million. Further details are available on request.

Information specific to First Aid Clients

  • Please wear practical clothing (you will be spending time on the floor!)

  • Please do not wear lipstick when performing CPR on the mannequins as it stains them.

  • Please be punctual – candidates who are constantly late or who miss a part of the course will not be able to complete the course.

  • You will be required to supply your own lunch, unless stated otherwise in your course information.

Information specific to organisations booking an in-house first aid course

  • The room must be large with plenty of clean floor space. Courses are active – students will be lying on the floor simulating casualties with others working around them.

  • The room will require seating for the students and a table for the projector.

  • For First Aid at Work 2 additional rooms will be required for the examinations on the last day.

  • Equipment required: a projector screen, a flipchart/whiteboard (these can be provided by Underwood Training Ltd), an electricity supply.

  • Maximum numbers for 1 trainer are 12 students. The maximum course size is 24 students (2 trainers)

Most of the national governing bodies have stipulations concerning contact time – in most cases students cannot pass a course unless they have attended all the sessions.
